Wellbeing Resources to Support Young People

School Counsellors – Most schools in West Lothian have support staff or counsellors who can support young people with any worries they may have. The Inclusion and Wellbeing Service can advise about supports in school, or simply ask your school.

Westspace is an online directory which has a lot of local health and wellbeing resources, including this page for children’s mental health.

Talk Time offers free counselling for young people with a physical disability (in Edinburgh, but available to all via video link)

Smile Counselling supports young people age 11-24 with anxiety or depression. There is usually a waiting list – to enquire, email referrals@smilecounselling.org.uk. There is also a page of helpful videos on topics such as body awareness, bereavement and emotions – smilecounselling.org.uk/videos.

Youtube has a number of mindfulness videos for young children, including Mindfulness for Kids for before sleep, and Spaceship to the Moon for relaxation

Sleep Scotland Teen Zone – Resources for teenagers: sleepscotland.org/teen-zone

Also audio resources to listen to wellbeing-glasgow.org.uk/relaxation
